Speaking of Schools

Mohawk Trail Regional School recently created a short video highlighting the success of its student internship program. Take a look here. The students’ excitement is a joy to behold.

Mud Party

The Sons & Daughters of Hawley will host their annual Mud Party on Sunday, April 6, beginning at 4:30 p.m. This is a pot luck event and great fun. It will take place this year at the Casa Tinky, 84 Middle Road. If you can come, please call Tinky at 413-339-4747 and let her know what you will bring to contribute to the feast!

Library Open House

The Tyler Memorial Library, which we share with Charlemont, is planning an Open House on Saturday, April 12, during National Library Week. Come check out the library’s resources, have a nibble or two, and learn about the Friends of the Library.

Looking Ahead: Hawley’s Spring Fling

Mark your calendars for Saturday, May 17, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. when Hawleyites of all ages are invited to make May Baskets, talk about their love of Hawley, eat lunch, and sing a few old-fashioned songs. We’ll gather at the Federated Church on Route 2 in Charlemont, which is sort of halfway between East and West Hawley.

RSVP by May 1 to 413-339-5518. We really need to know how many people will be coming. (We hope it will be a lot!) If you’d like to bring something for stuffing in the baskets–flowers or sweets or whatever strikes your fancy–please let us know.

This free event is offered by the Hawley Council on Aging and the Hawley Town Office with support from the Community Health Improvement Plan (CHIP) Network, a project of the Franklin Regional Council of Governments (FRCOG).
