Amended Cemetery Rules, Regulations and Procedures
Effective February 6, 2018, the Town has completed and adopted an amended set of Cemetary Rules, Regulations and Procedures. They include some significant changes. Download the documents: Rules | Procedures.
Hawley has six cemeteries: four owned by the town and two private.
The town-owned cemeteries are Doane on Forget Road, the East Hawley on Plainfield Road (opposite the Fire Station); Bozrah on Bozrah Road and South Hawley on Hallockville Road (in the State Forest). To obtain a plot in one of these cemeteries, contact the Town Office at 413 339-5518.
The private cemetery associations are for the Pudding Hollow Cemetery on Pudding Hollow Road and The West Hill Cemetery on West Hill Road. Pudding Hollow has its own website; to get contact information for West Hill, please contact the Town Office at 413 339-5518 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Unlike many surrounding towns, Hawley allows green burials. In general, people wishing to purchase a burial plot must have a tangible connection to the town. For pricing and availability, contact Gal Friday Tinky Weisblat at the Town Office.
