Special Town Meeting Next Week and More

Special Town Meeting

Our Special Town Meeting is scheduled for next Monday, February 23, at 7 p.m. at the Town Office, with a snow date of Monday, March 2. Please come so we’ll have a quorum; the meeting will be brief. Here is the warrant.

Changes in Office Hours

Next week, I (Tinky) will be in the office on Monday, February 23, from noon to 4 p.m. instead of on Tuesday. If you can’t come see me then, please email me or call me using the information below. I’m sure we can find a time to meet.

And the following week, our tax collector, Betty Nichols, will be in the office on Wednesday, March 4, from 2 to 4 p.m. instead of on Tuesday. Again, please leave a message at the office if you need to contact her at another time.

Canva Workshop

Don’t forget the Canva workshop at the library next Tuesday, February 24, at the library. (See the flyer below for details.) Canva is a free graphic-design program with which users can gussy up website, social-media content, and flyers. Bring your laptop or tablet!

Keep those License Applications Coming!

Thanks to all of you who have sent in applications for dog licenses. I have been asking around, and I haven’t yet been able to find a rabies-vaccination clinic before our deadline of April 1.

At the moment, you still have the option to get reduced-fee vet care at Tractor Supply.

The County Dog Shelter is offering a rabies clinic on Saturday, April 11, from 10 a.m. to noon. In case you wish to take advantage of this clinic, I am extending the deadline for licensing dogs until Friday, April 17.

That’s all for now. I hope you all had a lovely Valentine’s Day. I think of February 14 as a day to celebrate love in all its forms, whether it comes from a sweetheart or a neighbor or a small child or a pet. Today is President’s Day, and tomorrow is Mardi Gras/Shrove Tuesday, a day to indulge in excess before we move into Lent (traditionally a time of self-discipline). I will be wearing my Mardi Gras beads in the office in case anyone stops by and wants to see the good times roll! Tomorrow is also the beginning of the Lunar New Year. So we have lots to celebrate despite the grey weather.

Warmly,
