Property Values, Chimney Cleaning, and a Thank You
Hi, Neighbors–A Special Notice from the Assessors: Public Disclosure of Property Values ends November 12! *Values are increasing an average of 4%* Don’t wait until tax bills are issued to ask questions! Proposed values are available to view in the entryway at the Town Office (when the Office is open), or at https://townofhawley.com/hawley-assessors/ .
The Assessors will be available at the Town Office for inquiries from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. tomorrow, Friday, November 8, or by appointment until Tuesday, November 12.
And there’s more….
Chimney Cleaning will take place on Sunday, November 17, weather and crew availability permitting. If you are interested in being on the list, please contact Brandon Root at 413-339-5592. The firefighters are too modest to say this, but I always recommend making a donation to the Hawley Firefighters’ Association in exchange for this helpful service.
And a THANK YOU from interim Town Clerk Pamela Shrimpton:
“Our interim TC Pam wants to send out many huge thanks after the 11-5-24 election. First, my gratitude goes to the hardworking Hawley election workers who spent long hours at Town Hall checking our voters in and out and cranking the ballots through our antique wooden ballot box. The next thank you goes to Greg and Gabriella Rowehl of Berkshire Pizza (in Charlemont), who provided these workers with both lunch and dinner plus cannoli! Their generosity to our town workers is unparalleled. Next, to the Hawley bakers who provided for the bake sale on election day, which benefited both the Sons & Daughters of Hawley and the Charlemont/Hawley Arts Council. And finally, to all the 196 voters who either filled out early voter ballots or came in person to show their patriotism. There is no better small town than Hawley!” says Pam.
Of course, we want to thank Miss Pam for stepping in to run this very busy election so cheerfully and smoothly. She and her helpers had a very long day and night!
Hawley’s election results may be viewed here.
That’s it for now. Enjoy this amazing warm weather..
Warmly,
