Out of the Office for Independence Day (and beyond)
Dear Fellow Hawleyites:
Just a quick note to say that I will not be at my office hours this Tuesday. Unfortunately, everyone in my home (except the pets) has come down with COVID. So this isn’t a good time for me to interact with the public.
That said, if you need something—a dump sticker, COVID tests, or anything else—please call me at home (339-4747). I can go to the office wearing a mask, wash my hands thoroughly, and leave whatever it is at the side door with your name on it.
And I can answer questions as well, although my brain is a bit foggy so it may take me a little while to articulate my answers!
Don’t worry about bothering me on my sickbed: I am NEVER too sick to talk.
Speaking of office hours, Town Clerk Donna Lemoine will not be at the office during her regular Thursday shift this week; Thursday is Independence Day. If you want to get in touch with her, please email her (townclerk@townofhawley.com), and she will try to help.
We have no official July 4 events here in Hawley. Here are a few upcoming happenings nearby, all sponsored in part by the Charlemont-Hawley Arts Council:
Thursday, July 4, at 5 p.m. at the Charlemont Federated Church
Mohawk Trail Concerts’ Annual Independence Day Concert
Pianist/Improv Artist Mark Kelso will create a program on the spot.
Saturday, July 6, at 5 p.m. at the Charlemont Federated Church
Mohawk Trail Concerts presents the Telegraph String Quartet
with a program of Beethoven, Kenji Bunch, and Dvořák
Thursday, July 18, at 7 p.m.
The Charlemont Forum Presents “Navigating the News Landscape”
With journalist/filmmaker Jackie Jesko
That’s it for right now. Have a Glorious Fourth!
Your Gal Friday,
Tinky
