Odds and Ends on a Cloudy Day

Dear Hawley Neighbors and Friends–Happy almost November! Today’s gray skies seem very November-y. I hope your spirits are more cheerful than the weather. I have just a couple of pieces of information to share today…..

Vaccine Clinic

For those of you who have not yet received flu or COVID vaccinations, there is a clinic coming up at Hawlemont School on Monday, November 17, between 4 and 6 p.m. Please note that in order to make sure there are enough supplies, you must pre-register by next Friday, November 7. See the poster below for more details. Insurance forms to fill out may be found here.

Tinky’s Office Hours

If you need me next week (the week of November 3), please come into the office Thursday the sixth between noon and 4 p.m. instead of Tuesday; my brother will be visiting me on Tuesday, and I don’t get to see him very often. Or make an appointment with me (339-5518, info@townofhawley.com) to get together at another time.

A Theatrical Experience

Susan Purdy of West Hawley asked me to announce a “Climate Change Theater” production in Shelburne Falls. This will involve 10 five-minute climate plays and Eugène Ionesco’s The Leader. The first performance will be free and will take place in Shelburne Falls at 1 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 2. This event will start at Deerfield and Bridge Streets, then go behind the nearby Juice Bar and finally to the Water Street Barn. All will be performed at The Water Street Barn in case of rain.

The plays will also be performed at 7 p.m. on Saturday, November 22, at the newly renovated Memorial Hall Theater. Tickets will cost $10 at the door (cash or check). Proceeds will got to The Art Garden. The plays are supported by The West County Climate Circle, and the Art Garden and are a local Swampcreek Quagmire Production.

That’s all I have for now, but I’m sure I’ll be back soon.

Warmly,

Tinky Weisblat
