INVITATION FOR BIDS

KING CORNER CULVERT REPLACEMENT
Bridge No. H-13 018 (CQC)
The Town of Hawley will accept sealed bids for KING CORNER CULVERT REPLACEMENT construction services per the plans and specifications of GZA GEOENVIRONMENTAL, INC and the instructions in the IFB. Bidders must be prequalified in the Category “Bridge-Culvert” for $1,990,988.50 by the Massachusetts Department of Transportation (hereinafter “MassDOT”) and must meet all bid requirements. There is a MANDATORY pre-bid conference at the site on AUGUST 27, 2026 AT 10AM.
Sealed bids marked “Hawley King Corner Culvert Replacement BID” will be received by the Town of Hawley attn: Selectboard, 8 Pudding Hollow Rd., Hawley, MA 01339, on or before 2pm on September 18, 2026 and opened in public. Any bids received after the specified time will not be accepted. If, at the bid opening time Town Hall is closed for any unforeseen reason, the bid deadline will be postponed until the same time on the next normal business day. Emailed or faxed bids will not be accepted. The original and two (2) copies shall be submitted.
Wage rates for this bid are subject to prevailing wage rates as per MGL Chapter 149, Section 26 – 27f inclusive. This bid is being undertaken per MGL Ch 30 §39M requiring a 5% bid bond/deposit at the time of bidding and 100% Performance and 100% Labor and Materials Payment Bond at the time of contract signing.
Qualified bidders who are Minority/Women/Disabled Owned Business Enterprises (M/W/D/BE) businesses are encouraged to apply. Other qualified bidders are encouraged to partner with disadvantaged businesses. A listing of certified disadvantaged businesses can be found at http://www.mass.gov/sdo. Bid specifications must be requested by email and any questions submitted to andreawoodsconsulting@gmail.com. All bidders must register with this email in order to receive addenda or meeting notification. Bidders should check via email for addenda before submitting their bid.
The awarding authority is the Town of Hawley, which reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids in total or in part as it may deem to be in the best public interest.
