Happy Spring!

It’s still a bit nippy outside, but spring has officially arrived, and the snow does appear to be receding. Celebrate Maple Month … and keep your eyes open for robins and daffodils! (I wish I could say that the photo above was from this year, but it’s old.)

 Deadline for Nomination Papers

The deadline for submitting nomination forms for the upcoming town election is a week from tomorrow, Tuesday, March 31.

We are still looking for a moderator as Scott Purinton is getting ready to move out of town. This isn’t really a very complicated job; it just entails running a meeting (probably a couple of meetings) each year. Please let Town Clerk Ellie Van Iderstine or me know if you are interested in helping out in this capacity.

Ellie is in and out of the office at present, but I will be able to give out nomination papers tomorrow, that is on Tuesday, March 24, from noon to 4 p.m. or by appointment. Remember, you need to collect signatures from at least 20 town voters for your nomination forms. Most people are happy to sign, however. Signing the form does not commit them to voting for any particular candidate.

Ellie still hasn’t received papers from several people whose terms expire this year. Please come get yours and fill them out if you are one of these people.

Digital Privacy Session

Cheryl Handsaker of Charlemont will discuss issues of digital privacy this coming Wednesday, March 25, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Tyler Memorial Library. This program is free and open to the public. See the flyer below for more details.

That’s all for today….

Warmly,

Tinky Weisblat
