Daffodil Days

First, Election News.

Absentee ballots are available at the Town Office from Ellie or Tinky . Request one if you won’t be able to come to the polls on Monday, May 5, between 11:45 a.m. and 7 p.m. If you are able to come, please do so. In either case, here is a preview of the ballot:

Selectman for Three Years: Hussain Hamdan is running; he is the incumbent.

Moderator for One Year: Incumbent Scott Purinton would be happy to be written in.

Town Clerk for Three Years: No one has expressed interest in this post. If no one is written in (any write-in would of course have to accept), the Selectmen will re-appoint current Town Clerk Ellie Van Iderstine.

The Tag Sale Returns!

.

People have been wondering whether the Giant Tag Sale would return to Hawley. Thanks to the Sons and Daughters of Hawley board menbers (Robin Clark and Liz Sears in particular), we need wonder no more!

This year’s tag sale will be held at the Grove (327 East Hawley Road) on Saturday and Sunday, June 21 and 22, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Hawley Fire Department will provide food and drink in exchange for a donation.

Tag Sale donations will be accepted every Saturday in May and the first two Saturdays in June from 10 a.m. to 12 noon at the Grove. The group will accept most items, but members ask please for no broken items/appliances, and no ripped or stained linens. The group is also accepting donations of paper or reusable bags to provide to tag-sale shoppers.

If you have questions or would like to schedule an alternate time to donate your items, or if you would like to volunteer to help with the tag sale, please contact Robin Clark at cookiermk@gmail.com or (413) 475-4747.

That’s it for today. I have a feeling I’ll be back soon with more news. Meanwhile, enjoy the warmth outside!

Warmly,
