A Lick and a Promise

Hawley Home Grown Has Arrived!

At the May election, townspeople discussed the plethora of produce some of us have in our gardens. (Not I!) We decided to try a produce swap at the Town Office. It will be called Hawley Home Grown.

As you walk up the ramp to the side door, you’ll see bookshelves to your right. If you have extra produce you would like to share with neighbors, please feel free to place it there. And if you’re looking for produce, look no further!

We will only be featuring Hawley Home Grown on days during which the office is open. We don’t want to attract too many critters! The official hours are Tuesday, 10 to 4; Wednesday, 10 to 2; and Thursday, 10 to 2. If you can’t come during those times, please let me (Tinky ) know, and I’ll let you into the building.

We have no idea how or whether this is going to work, but we think it’s worth a try! The bookshelves are a donation from the Sons and Daughters of Hawley.

Public Wi-Fi at the Town Office

The old guest network at the Town Office seems to be working again. If you need to connect to that, just hop on; there is no password. GoNetSpeed has given us a new public-access network, however, which is faster. It is called Hawley Public Access, and the password is hawleypa. Thank you, GoNetSpeed!

It’s Too Darn Hot!

The heat is supposed to break in a day or two—but if you just can’t stand it, give me a call (office, 413-339-5518; home 413-339-4747), and I’ll let you into the office, where the mini-splits are keeping things nicely cool.

This Weekend

Don’t forget the Charlemont Forum Thursday at 7. If you can’t make it to the Federated Church, you may watch via Zoom at this link.

There will be free crafting (making a welcome sign) at the Tyler Memorial Library in Charlemont on Saturday beginning at 12:30.

And Saturday’s offering from Mohawk Trail Concerts will be the Adaskin String Trio, featuring MTC artistic director Mark Fraser on cello, with Jean Jeffries on horn.

More soon………

Warmly,
