A Brief Safety Note from the Fire Department

To All Residents and Visitors:

As you may be aware, the recent combination of dry weather, wind, and an abundant quantity of natural fuels in the form of dead grass and leaves, has created a severe wildfire risk. There have been numerous wildfires across the region. These have threatened many homes and stretched the resources of local fire departments heavily.

As a result of the above, we are requesting that residents and visitors to Hawley refrain from having any kind of outdoor fire (including campfires and cooking fires) until further notice.
